In the winter, we imagine all the relaxing times we’ll have in summer. For parents of school age children, summer can become more stressful because you engage in even more negotiations with your kids. For those without children, working through the heat of summer, and having less free time than you imagined can add to your stress level. When you can’t get to the beach, or your air-conditioner breaks, you can still unhook from the day and go on a creative journey to a place where you leave your worries behind, and return refreshed. All of this happens while you sit in your chair meditate. Meditation is a:
Tool for Anxiety:
We all get anxious from time to time. There are deadlines to meet and dreams to realize. The tool to release anxiety is your breath. Inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth. Inhale calm, exhale worry.
Tool for Lack of Focus:
Sensory overload is in your ear, in your pocket, on your desk and all around. It is no wonder many people struggle with focusing on the task at hand. When you meditate, you create head space. In this space, you gain mental clarity.
Tool for Moving Through Sadness:
Each of us can relate to loss, grief and sadness. Sometimes, it stays buried within. Guided visualization is an opportunity to move through sadness and gain resolution.
Tool for Body Acceptance:
While everyone else is complaining about their weight, hair loss, aches and pains, you have the opportunity to meaningfully shift to appreciate what is working about your body. I encourage you to love yourself and all the ways your body has served you. Through visualization you will heal and regenerate.
Take a break and sit. Breathe. Relax.
