What comes up for you when you read "Spring Clean Your Life?" Grab a notebook or your tablet and begin to write down the first things that pop up. Do you feel resistant to cleaning up your life? Are you already overwhelmed and not ready to start a project? Do you have so much physical work to do that you cannot even fathom addressing mental and emotional work in your life? Spring clean your life and have less mental clutter! #springclean, #lifecoach
If so, that is absolutely okay. You are right where you need to be. The steps I will go over now are steps you can take at anytime. Sometimes you need to get physical "stuff" done before you can get clarity on your mental and emotional life. So this is for when you feel ready:
Make 2 columns on your page. Label them SPACE and MIND. Identify what is cluttering in each category. When you think of Springing Forward, what do you know you really, really need to clear up mentally?
Using sweeping as a metaphor, what do you wish you could sweep away from your thoughts? Are your ruminating? Are you fearful? How is your attitude? How will you feel if you were to sweep away the things that are disturbing you?
Sometimes spring cleaning is about #lettinggo. What do you know you need to let go of, but are afraid to take action? Can you imagine the relief you would feel if you just let go? What would make your list of things you are ready to let go of?
What are your Top 3 things you are tolerating? Things you tolerate are things you put up with that drain you of energy. They change your mood and cause you to feel disempowered. Write these down.
If you could add in 1 daily habit what would that be? I love the work of author #JamesClear and his method of habit-stacking. Pick something you do automatically now, and tack on what you would like to do. Now you have a formula for making your new habit stick. How would doing this new habit help you to Spring Clean your life?
What are you procrastinating? How does putting this thing off give you energy? Have you thought about the benefits of putting it off? What are the benefits of getting it done? How will you feel when it is done?
Pick 3 Goals for Spring so you can Spring Clean Your Life! Picture the goal as if it were manifested. How do you feel when you see it that way? What are the specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound steps that you can take to meet each goal?
Mother nature gives us this season of blossoming, beauty and comfortable temperature. In the cocoon of nature, go ahead and stretch yourself. You deserve to live your best life.
