Why is it so important to remember your why? Or better to ask, Carla - what are you talking about?
I get it - let me explain. Your "why" is coach jargon that references your most precious values. Your purest and most true reasons for being are held within your values. A simple way to get clear on what your values is to ask yourself:
"Why is (fill in the blank) so important to me?" Think about the direction you want your life to go in and what makes you feel alive. It's easy to be motivated by your immediate needs or even urges. Clarity around your values enables you to make choices you will not regret. That's why knowing your Why is most important.
Your actions can be guided by your immediate feelings. When you are clear on your values, you can check in to see if taking that action supports you in living your best life. While you cannot control your thoughts and feelings at all times, you can control your behaviors and choose to take action based upon your values. Allow your values to guide your decision making. ✨
You can ask yourself: What do I want right now? Then follow up with: What do I want most of all? For example, if what you want right now is to avoid being late, your actions may be filled with hasty decisions and possibly driving excessively fast. If what you want most is to be safe so you can live a long and healthy life and to be calm and confident in your demeanor, then hastiness and speeding are not in alignment with your values. Decisions become easy.
While an apple a day may indeed support your physical health, remembering your why is most important to supporting your mental and emotional well-being. #values, #mentalhealth, #knowyourwhy, #lifecoach, #mentalhealthcoach, #divorcecoach
