3 STEPS TO POWERHOUSE JOURNALING

The year is coming to a close and it is a great time to pick up your journal or device and reflect.

As described in my book, Keyed In - 7 Keys to Transform Your Life, writing in your journal serves several purposes.

1. Unload your day. Release your burdens and write about what went wrong, what went right, and how you feel.

2. Use affirmations. An affirmation is a statement of something you desire to experience that is written in the present tense. For example, "I am so happy and grateful now that I have finished writing my book!"

3. Gratitude. The secret to success in all areas of your life is to be grateful for all that you already have. Identify 5 items for which you are grateful. These can be physical things, like your home. And they can be intangible, like the kind gesture of a stranger. Be sure to always include one item about you personally for which you are grateful. "I am so grateful for my health and vitality!"
